how do you pick a donor anyways? Is it like a sears style catalogue that has profiles and medical information on all the different donors?
If so, maybe look for someone with compatible blood types (no one likes the RH blood transfusion...even though I've heard it's rather simple to do)...it'd be great if your child was O- .... it's a great feeling knowing that my blood goes to save millions of people and everyone can use it.
Other than that, maybe dark hair and light eyes? You need one of those gene schemes where you plot out everything and it'll tell you what percentage the baby has of getting trait A versus trait B....
