May. 28th, 2003 09:06 pmThese were a good couple of days for me :)
First, on Tuesday after work, I went over to Fowler to meet Clancy. We drove to her place, dropped off her car, then we took my car and drove it to the liquor store, where we got 4 smirnoff, some Godet, some coke, and she already had rum at her place. We went, and studied then. I showed her the Hardy-Weinberg principle, and she checked my redox work. Then, after two hours, we decided we were hungry, so we ordered pizza, opened smirnoff, and waited.
Pizza showed up late, and so they gave us two free pieces of chocolate turtle cake (Note to all: Yesterday was my "Cheat" day on my diet, consindering everything we consumed was full of empty calories. I was bad today too, but I will be back on track tomorrow) And so we ate the pizza, and I had one wing. After the pizza was done, we had turned on "Sorority Boys" and watched it. During the movie, I had three smirnoff, and about 3 oz of rum. I was drunk.
Some people are quiet when they're intoxicated. Some people have it hit them, and they fall asleep. I am SO not one of these people. Apparently I'm hard to handle when I'm drunk. Yeah. We'll leave it at that.
This morning, I woke up, and showered, then went to my shift at the hospital straight from Clancy's. I got to lot 7 where I am allowed to park, and there are no spots. None. I called the hospital switchboard to get them to transfer me to parking services, and they told me to park in lot 8a.
Could I find lot 8a?
I finally found it, and parked. I walked into the hospital, and the first thing I hear is "Code Blue: Emergency X-ray. Code Blue: Emergency X-ray. Code Blue: Emergency X-ray." I said ugh, and seriously considered leaving. I changed my mind, and went in.
I was jumped on by three people. The SW for emerg needed me to help her move clothes from the ambu bay to her office, the triage nurse needed me to get her a wheelchair for a patient, and the UC said my four most hated words at that place.
"The tube is down."
The tube is a well, a tube. It runs from Emerg to the lab on the 6th floor. Everything goes up the tube except for CSF from a lumbar puncture, that I have to bring up because lumbar punctures aren't exactly painless. So, I became the tube, and was sent up countless times with blood and urine to be tested.
After my shift, I left, and drove to SAIT where I went to the Sen. Burns building to meet Andrew. Andrew, I had met once before through a mutual friend, and he had kindly enough offered to tutor me in Redox. So, I go there, and I see him, so I sat at the table, then we moved to what he called "the nerdiest room in the school" and well, it was a cozy place. Reminded me what we did to the band room in HS, except we didn't have a pop machine of our own. We went through about 1/4th of the redox unit, and now I'm halfway through (yay!). We finished, then he walked me through a really nice building, offered to help me again, and then I left.
Driving home in a semi sleep stage. This is not good. Almost hit a truck. There are marks on the road from my wheels. Don't tell no one those are mine...
Still exhausted. it's 10:04, and well... I'm tired. I will write more later.
