Jun. 8th, 2001 11:07 pmI dont' remember when I last updated, so I'll just start with yesterday, the freshest stuff in my memory.
Yesterday was concert night. Everything went smoothly, It was all good. I played great in everything, except I got lost in this one russian song we did. it was bad. The Trumpets fucked up the beginning too. After, was choir, which was good. Then Me and Rob did our duet, which went extremely well. after, was the stage (jazz) band. We opened with my feature piece "God Bless The Child", then we did "I wanna be like you" (from the jungle book... it's a Big Bad VooDoo Daddy" chart. I had an improv in that one. Then we did "Take 5", "MI theme", and finally, constable peace joined us for "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy", a song he did in high school... that one rocked. (Peace sat in with us, he used to play trombone in his high school band). After that was the grad songs, then concert band finished up with "Star Trek- Through the Generations", and a meadly from John Williams music- we did the Olympic Theme (my fav), the imperial march (everyone knows it only as "darth vader's theme), and "Raider's March". After was the awards, and then we went home.
Tomorrow, I have to get up early, and go with Andrew to get a blood test done. The place opens at seven, and so we'll be there around 7:30, so we don't have to wait too long (hopefully everyone else WON"T have the same idea)... Then we're going back to my place, and mom and my sister are going with us to the mall, so I can get presents for dad's father day and my mom's birthday. then we will take the bus numbered 32 to sunridge station, and we might go downtown, because that's where Rideau music is, and I'm addicted to that store. (Rideau sells sheet music for every instrument under the sun, and then some).
School's almost out. I can't put in to words how happy I am. Aside from seattle, and the performances that we did do in band, the year was shit. We missed out on being in the "a" channel's big breakfast show, we missed our big band dance (well, we didn't put it on this year), we didn't get to go to Red Deer, and now, we dont' get to go to Calaway Park for our wind up party because too many people cancelled on us. So I'm a bit pissed. Academically, I think i'll do okay on my major finals (I only have biology and social...) I have to write them on the 21st and the 22nd of june. Then I go and pick up my report card on the 28th, and I'm gone for 2 months. I'll also pick up a clarinet to learn over the summer. Or a french horn or a bassoon. I haven't decided yet. Any suggestions? send a comment!!
